Tales from the Stash: A Free Scrap Blanket Knitting Pattern

Update from Knitters Making the Blanket

Update: Since launching Tales from the Stash, Iโ€™ve received photos from knitters in London and beyond who are making their own scrap blankets.

When I asked them what part was hardest, the answer surprised me. It wasnโ€™t the knitting.

It was deciding which colors should sit next to each other.

None of them said they felt like quitting. In fact, several have already cast on again.

Use up your leftover yarn and stitch your stories into something meaningful.
Todayโ€™s the day! Iโ€™m so excited to finally share this project with you. You are going to love this scrap blanket knitting pattern.

Whether youโ€™ve been quietly watching the countdown on Instagram or just stumbled across this post, welcome to the launch of the Tales from the Stash Blanketโ€”a beginner-friendly scrap blanket pattern designed to help you slow down, use what you have, and create something beautiful.

A Blanket That Tells a Story

Jen's Tales from the Stash blanket

This pattern started with a mission: use up the growing pile of leftover yarn Iโ€™d collected over the years. I began making one scrap blanketโ€ฆ then anotherโ€ฆ and another. Each project made a small dent in my stash but a big impact on my heart.

This blanket is the fourth in that journeyโ€”and it might be my favorite yet.

Each panel is knit on the diagonal, joined as you go, and filled with memories from past projects. Some colors remind me of gifts I made for loved ones. Some yarns have been in my stash so long theyโ€™ve become old friends.

And now, you can create your own version.
